And the road: narrow, but no traffic!

Our hotel can be seen in this picture.

Cavaillon, with the Luberon mountain behind it. We skirt this on the north side on our next day's ride.

Still life with melon rinds.

Which way?

This is on the bike path around the Montagne Luberon. Most of it is very small lightly trafficed secondary roads. There are bits (maybe this bit) which are bike trails on old railroad beds.
From Cavaillon, we took the Luberon "bike path" which is really more of a bike route along secondary roads though beautiful town after beautiful town. I think this is in Robion, just outside of Cavaillon. All along this bike path one sees very attractive houses to rent for a week at some time!

Did I mention that each town is at the top of its own hill? I think this one is Maubec.

This is the view from somewhere in Oppede. Oppede was very beautfiul, halfway up a hill, and we spent almost an hour walking around, enjoying the view.
OK, some of the towns aren't quite at the top of the hill. But it still seems that way when you are riding up to them.
The abandoned, but in restoration, 12th century church that is really at the top of the hill above Oppede.

Pretty house in Oppede.

There are a lot of grapes being cultivated. We didn't do any degustation in this region, but we had delicious table wine every time we bought anything, no matter how cheap it was!
I think this is Lacoste.
Also Lacoste, I believe.
