Once again, great long hill coming out of town, but it brings us up to a flat road above the valley with great views the whole time.

Lunchtime!
Yes, we're now in the Cote d'Azur.
Our room in our _very_ lovely hotel in Aups.
Courtyard of the hotel/restaurant
From our room into the hotel courtyard.
Hotel de la Tour courtyard
The hotel was filled with interesting and whimsical sculptures of various sorts.
The little light green things in the field are olive trees. Few grapes here, lots of olives.
I think this is looking north from the D77 between Aups and Tourtour.
Us in Tourtour.
Village square in Tourtour. One of the difficulties of a bicycle trip, is that the number of village squares that one would like to sit in to eat lunch or dinner far exceeds the number of lunches and dinners one has.
I know I look furtive. I'm not really trying to sneak out with a patisserie - just close the door quietly but firmly.
Old olive tree. Typical (at least where we were) in that the old trunk had been cut, and new small branches were growing from a huge old trunk.
Someplace along the road as we continue through Ampus and Chateaudouble.
A really windy day! This is at the intersection of the D955 and the D19. We're about to take the D19 down to Fayence.
Looking forward to a long, mostly downhill ride to Fayence. Very windy, but at this point the wind is going to be at our backs.
Village square in Seillans.

Fayence: our goal for the day. We never actually saw it. No hotels in town, so we stayed at a hotel in the ountry, and then didn't feel like facing the hill and the dust for dinner.
Our hotel, well outside of Fayence. Perfectly pleasant, except for its location several miles outside of town.
Building in Tourettes, outside of Fayence.
Planning our retreat from Fayence at a cafe in Callian.
